Claim Jumper is a restaurant chain headquartered in California with 45 locations through out the western states. They are known for a large menu with a wide range of foods. The menu features a wide range of foods, including sandwiches, pizzas, and salads, but focuses mainly on meats such as steaks, and ribs. They have become well known for their signature desserts. Claim Jumper has licensed its name to frozen food producer American Pie, LLC to create a line of frozen dinners, which are sold in grocery stores.

Blue Cheese Wedge Salad

Claim Jumper Copycat Recipe

Serves 4

Bleu Cheese Dressing:
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon salt

1 head iceberg lettuce
1 cup crumbled blue cheese
1 cup diced tomato (1 large tomato)

Use an electric mixer to combine all ingredients for blue cheese dressing in a medium bowl. Slice a head of iceberg lettuce into quarters through the stem end. Cut the stem off of the wedges and arrange each one on a plate. Spoon about 1/4 cup of blue cheese dressing over each lettuce wedge. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of crumbled blue cheese over the dressing. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of diced tomato over the top and serve.

Notes:  Claim Jumper also adds crumbled bacon and red onion on top of their wedge salads.  They serve a crab wedge salad made the exact same way with the addition of crab meat which is just awesome.

  2. I am SO happy I found this recipe!!! I loved Claim Jumpers' Wedge Salad and was SO disappointed to learn it was taken off the menu. (It may have reprised it's role on the menu, but after last visiting with a drastically changed menu, mediocre food, and poor service, I've never been back.) Their blue (or bleu) cheese dressing was so delicious and I haven't been able to find anything quite as perfect, 'til now. Deciding to replicate their wedge at home, I found this recipe and thank goodness I did. This blue cheese dressing is amazing!!! I could bathe in it. LOL! It's scary. :] I made a batch, the family gobbled it up, and immediately made another batch with some extra blue cheese thrown in for good measure. My only issue is the high-fat/calorie count. I might try subbing in some low-fat sour cream and reducing the mayonnaise just to see what it tastes like. However, this dressing recipe is perfect and was SO delicious on our iceberg wedges with red onion, tomatoes, bacon, and of course, more blue cheese. :)

  3. The wedge salad I ate at Claim Jumper had some type of basalmic dressing on it as well as the bleu cheese dressing. I was hoping this was the recipe for that because it was so delicious.
